What's the hottest word of 2021? "Double carbon" definitely counts. From the "two Sessions" at the beginning of the year, to the general debate of the 76th United Nations General Assembly, and to the joint Declaration on Enhanced climate Action reached by China and the United States, "double carbon" has set off round after round of discussions among experts, scholars and media.
China aims to achieve carbon peak by 2030 and carbon neutral by 2060. In this fundamental change that may affect the well-being of people all over the world, the reform of the energy industry, as the main source of carbon emissions at present, bears the brunt, while the status and role of nuclear energy as a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy becomes unprecedented.
Nuclear power, as a safe, clean, low-carbon and reliable energy source, has been accepted and adopted by more and more countries, and more and more countries are considering or starting plans to build nuclear power plants. According to preliminary statistics, more than 60 countries have used or are considering nuclear power generation.
According to public information, 10-25 countries will join the "nuclear club" by 2030. And according to the International Atomic Energy Agency, the world's nuclear capacity is expected to increase by at least 40% by 2030. At present, China is also increasing investment in the nuclear power industry. Previously, it was clearly stated in the Opinions on Implementing the New Development Concept to Achieve carbon peak and Carbon Neutrality in a Complete, accurate and comprehensive way that the nuclear power industry should be actively, safely and orderly developed.
According to China's 14th Five-Year Plan, 70 million kilowatts of nuclear power will be in operation by 2025. In recent years, relevant domestic research groups have proposed the goal of nuclear power generation to reach 150 million kW by 2035. This means that six to eight new units will be built every year. With the rapid development of nuclear power industry, valve as a necessary equipment for nuclear power plant operation, its demand will continue to grow.
Nuclear power valve is an indispensable key equipment in the safe operation of nuclear power plant. Its main function is to control and regulate the flow rate, temperature, pressure and flow direction of medium in the pipeline of nuclear power plant, and also to protect other pressure vessels such as voltage regulator and evaporator.
In recent years, as China's nuclear power industry chain of the whole perfect gradually, and the sustainable development of domestic production technology, part of the valve business in China gradually broke the original monopoly by foreign manufacturers of nuclear grade valve of high-end market, and can independently design and production of gate valve, globe valve, check valve, ball valve, butterfly valve, regulating valve, throttle valve, diaphragm valve and a series of nuclear safety valve, Market competitiveness has significantly improved.
"Carbon peak and carbon neutral" is a major strategic decision made by the CPC Central Committee after careful consideration. It is a wide-ranging and profound economic and social change that will ensure the sustainable development of the Chinese nation and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. In the white paper "China's Energy Development in the New Era", the "Carbon Neutral Roadmap" demonstrates to the world China's actions and responsibilities as a major country in addressing climate change.
Under the background of carbon neutrality, due to the lack of high-quality wind power and photovoltaic resources, some provinces are expected to become the ideal replacement of thermal power due to the flexible utilization hours of nuclear power, low resource constraints, relatively flexible site selection and no carbon emission of power generation, and the approval of nuclear power is expected to accelerate during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.
It can be predicted that the "dual carbon" target is expected to accelerate the normalization of China's nuclear power construction. The growth of nuclear grade valves brought by nuclear power construction and the demand for spent fuel reprocessing brought by the continuous increase of nuclear power units put into commercial operation in China will bring huge development opportunities to nuclear power equipment enterprises.
