Titanium is a metal with high chemical activity. However, it has excellent corrosion resistance to many corrosive media. The reason is that titanium and oxygen have a good affinity, which is very easy to react with oxygen and generate a solid and dense pure oxide film on its surface. In many media with severe corrosion conditions, this oxide film is very stable and difficult to dissolve. Even if it is damaged, it can repair itself and regenerate quickly as long as there is sufficient oxygen. Titanium valves mainly use titanium metal materials to have good stability and self passivation ability of oxide film in strong corrosive environment, which can resist strong corrosion under various harsh conditions. Whether the titanium valve can resist the corrosion of the working environment medium depends on the chemical stability of the "passive oxide film" on its surface in the corrosive medium. For neutral, oxidizing and weak reducing media environment, "passive oxide film" itself has good stability. For reducing corrosion media with high temperature or low PH value, in order to improve the stability of its "passive oxide film", corrosion inhibitors (such as air, water, heavy metal ions and anions) can be added, such as surface ion modification, anodization and other methods, to improve the corrosion resistance and surface hardness of "titanium" in reducing media to meet the use requirements.
